“Lovely stay in Berwyn, lovely house. 13 years in Newquay, 1st time in Crantock - definitely converted! Favourite spot in the house - sitting on purple sofa looking out at the beautiful garden. Great to have decent sized bath sheets not postage stamps! Love the village, love the gannel - hope to be back someday.“

Lift the latch on the front gate to step in front of a holiday cottage, which guarantees to create memories that last a life time. The welcoming red door and pleasing front patio are just the first lovely signs of what charm the house has. Once inside, look down at the original Victorian tessellated tiles, which have been saved during the house's renovation. As you continue your explorations of the house you will discover plenty of other period features, which naturally blend in with Berwyn's contemporary decor.
The cosy front living room is perfect for quiet evenings in front of the fire. Epitomising elegant Victorian living, the room has lovely period features, including wood floors, which make it a beautiful place to enjoy a glass of wine away from the children, a quiet conversation with friends, or just peaceful alone time. This quiet tranquil room is tastefully decorated in neutral colours, and has two comfy sofas and a curved armchair, which are great for curling up with a good book.
Overlooking the garden at Berwyn is the large family room, which has a stunning Victorian tiled fireplace with wood-burner, lovely rug-covered floors and a high ceiling. The family friendly room has lovely views of the enclosed private garden, and sliding doors which open out on to the patio area. Two big three-seater sofas are wonderful places to relax after a day exploring the Cornish coast, or for watching the large flat screen TV. An additional, comfy two seater sofa is located in the living room extension, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or good book in the sunshine. A selection of games are also provided just in case the weather turns cloudy. The lounge is also a good place to take advantage of the WiFi, which is available throughout the house. Located off the extension is the downstairs cloakroom fitted with loo and sink.
With its elegant pine dining table and cream wood chairs, the dining room is a clever mix of classic and contemporary country living. Perfect for all occasions, the room is bright and airy with plenty of light streaming in from the Victorian sash window. The table seats up 10 but would feel just as comfortable with a happy couple enjoying a romantic meal by candlelight.
Berwyn has a beautiful modern kitchen, with wood-topped cream cabinets and slate tiled floor. Equipped to a very high standard, the kitchen has been elegantly built and tailored to meet all your day-to-day needs when rustling up family meals or creating a special occasion. Despite being a galley kitchen, there are ample cupboards and plenty of storage space. The kitchen has been fitted with all manner of appliances including fridge/freezer, double range cooker with induction hob, four-slice toaster and microwave. Double doors open out on the garden, making it a lovely place to cook, with the gentle Cornish breeze wafting in. If you've got dogs, you will find a selection of dog bowls in the kitchen to help keep your four-legged friends happy during their stay.
Located off the Aga room is the handy utility room where you will find the washing machine and tumble dryer. This compact room is ideal for storing muddy boots in the chilly winter months or buckets and spades for the beach in the summer. A back door to the garden is located here, which is great when taking out the washing to hang on the line.
The original kitchen at Berwyn is now a spacious middle area between the kitchen and dining room. The warm and cosy room has a period Aga and slate floor, which pay tribute to the cottage's Victorian past. Also located in this room is a handy butcher's block, extra storage cabinet and wine rack. The under stairs cupboard situated off this room is where you will find all the cottage's cleaning equipment, including vacuum and broom.
The pretty family bathroom with its feature roll top bath is found at the top of the first set of stairs. This lovely refined bathroom has been tastefully decorated mixing pale pastel colours with dark slate floor tiles. The peaceful bathroom is idyllic for a long hot soak in the tub with a selection of complimentary toiletries provided; it is hard to imagine anywhere more relaxing.
Overlooking the garden, and with views of Cubert Common, the sun terrace at the rear of Berwyn is a wonderful place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or soothing afternoon tea.
At the rear of the cottage is the homely twin bedroom. No matter what your age you are sure to appreciate this cute and cosy room, built especially for two. The full size single beds with wood frames are very comfortable and a handy sink means you don't need to worry about getting to the bathroom to clean your teeth.
The standard double bedroom with views of Cubert Common is anything but simple. Like the other rooms at Berwyn, it has been tastefully decorated and furnished. At the heart of the room is a delightful double bed with wood frame. There is plenty of storage with a large built in wardrobe and a useful vanity unity for stowing a hair dryer and all your holiday sun creams. The bedroom also has its own TV with DVD player.
DOUBLE / TWIN BEDROOM
The lovely bedroom at the front of Berwyn has a superb zip and link bed, which can either be set up as two singles or one super king-size bed. This beautiful cream room is complimented by its large wood cupboard and pale brown carpet. A useful vanity unit is great for washing hands or teeth and is also where you'll find the hair dryer. If you're someone who likes to watch TV in bed, then you won't be disappointed, as a wall mounted TV with DVD player is also installed.
The second attractive family bathroom is sleek and stylish with a full white suite and pretty, unfussy floral tiles. Unlike the first family bathroom, this one is more modern with a large shower unit and silver fixtures. It is a great place to wash off the sand after a day on the beach, or have an exhilarating shower to prepare you for a day exploring North Cornwall.
DOUBLE / TWIN BEDROOM
A second well designed bedroom at the front of the house features a zip and link bed, which on request can be made up as either two singles or one super king-size bed. This elegant room with hints of creams and pale pinks is very attractive with handsome furniture and a convenient vanity unit, where there is a hair dryer and mirror. It also has a wall mounted TV with built in DVD player.
The Master Bedroom at Berwyn is chic and stylish. The large room, which has cleverly utilised the attic space, has warm cream carpets and neutral walls. The double aspect room looks out over Cubert Common at the rear, and from the front window you can catch a glimpse of the ocean glistening in the distance. The king-size bed is central to the room and is lovely and comfortable. There is also more than enough storage space for an entire holiday wardrobe with a nice chest of drawers, beautiful tall cabinet and a walk in wardrobe with ample hanging space and a second set of chest of drawers. The Master Bedroom also has its own TV with built in DVD player, so you can pop in a film as you drift off to sleep, dreaming of another day in North Cornwall.
MASTER BEDROOM EN-SUITE
Classic slate floors and marble topped sink units are timeless features in the Master Bedroom en-suite bathroom. This warm and cosy room with sophisticated shower and silver fixtures and fittings has a nice romantic feel, and with a lovely hot radiator you never need to worry about waking up to cold damp towels, whilst you're staying at Berwyn.
Accessed either via the kitchen, lounge or utility room is the picture-perfect garden. Big enough for a game of family football with the children or a little bit of peace and quiet, Berwyn’s garden offers something for all the family. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with flower beds full of colour round the borders. This delightful sun trap garden is ideal for dog owners and families with young children, as it is very safe, and is surrounded by a fence, making it difficult for even an escape artist to find a way out. In the summer the garden is set up with a table and chairs where you can enjoy a leisurely drink or relish an evening BBQ with family and friends.
